Magic ring (MR)

The magic ring is also called a magic loop, or magic circle. This is a popular way to start round crochet pieces.

Video

Wind the yarn first. Then make a loop.

Pinch the loop with the middle figure and thumb.

Insert the hook into the loop and do a yarn over.

The hook brings the yarn through the loop.

Yarn over again.

Bring the yarn through the loop on the hook.
Now a circle has formed.

Begin crocheting with your right hand, insert the hook through the large circle.

Yarn over, then bring the yarn through the large circle.

At this point, there are 2 loops on the hook.

Yarn over. Then the hook grabs the yarn and pass through 2 small loops together.

There is 1 loop left on the hook. We have crocheted a single crochet.

Remember to button a marker in the first stitch. Then repeat steps 7-11 until you have as many stitches as the pattern calls for.

Then the magical part.Hold the stitches we just made in the left hand, and pull the yarn tail tight in the right hand.

It's a sample of a magic loop with 6 single crochets in it.
